Bhakti Dham, Mangarh
Bhakti Dham is the birthplace of Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj. It is situated in a small village called Mangarh which is nestled amidst the lush green farmlands of Pratapgarh district between Ayodhya and Prayag (Allahabad), Uttar Pradesh, India.
In order to benefit those souls desiring God’s love, Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj founded an Ashram in Mangarh in 1966. This once unknown and quiet village has been attracting faithful souls ever since. Over the years, the ashram has steadily expanded to accommodate thousands of devotees who come to experience the extraordinary devotional atmosphere. The ashram contains numerous guest rooms, a large kitchen and dining hall, gardens, orchards and a goshala (cowshed). Bhakti Dham is also home to the divine monument Bhakti Mandir, the 100% Free Hospital – Jagadguru Kripalu Chikitsalaya and a Bhakti Bhawan (Satsang Hall). The spring Sadhna program which culminates in the joyous Holi celebration is held at Bhakti Dham, along with the annual month-long Sadhna program held during October-November. Both programs attract thousands of devotees to Bhakti Dham from all around the world.
As you enter Bhakti Dham in Mangarh and travel down the road, Bhakti Mandir appears before you like a mystical divine charm. While reminding future generations of the greatness of this divine place, it will also provide inspiration for devotion and divine knowledge for thousands of years to come.
The foundation stone of Bhakti Mandir was laid on October 26th, 1996, marking the beginning of construction of this all stone, hand-carved temple. Standing 108 feet tall and built with pink sandstone, white marble and black granite, Bhakti Mandir was inaugurated in a grand celebration in November 2005.
Upon entering the temple, the beautiful life sized Deities of Radha Krishna incorporates divine pleasure and attraction of Radha Krishna and forcibly attracts the mind. Delicately carved Deities of the Ashta Mahasakhis (8 eternal and closest friends of Radha Rani), personally established by Shri Maharaj Ji encircle the main hall. Equally beautiful life sized Deities of Ram and Sita have been established on the first floor.
For further devotional inspiration, two side wings display depiction of Radha Krishna leela and important events from Shri Maharaj Ji’s life.
Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat is thankful to all those workers, craftsmen, artists, supervisors, engineers, architects, and thousands of people from other countries who contributed in some way with the construction of this temple. Now this magnificent temple is a historical inheritance.
Jagadguru Kripalu Chikitsalaya – Mangarh
Opened in 2003, Jagadguru Kripalu Chikitsalaya at Bhakti Dham is bringing health, happiness and hope to the local impoverished population. This fully charitable hospital offers various medical services ranging from allopathic, Ayurvedic, Naturopathy, Physiotherapy and Homoeopathy, which are all provided 100% free of cost to all patients, including free medications available from a fully-stocked onsite pharmacy. The 75-bedded hospital houses modern equipments and technologies and 600-700 patients are treated daily by doctors, specialists and highly trained staff. In addition, various health awareness and free medical camps – eye camps, blood donation camps, etc, are also frequently held at JKC – Mangarh.
To cater for the growing enthusiasm, the original satsang hall was replaced by a larger hall. That growth has continued and now an even larger hall is being constructed for the unprecedented numbers of devotees who come to Mangarh Dham. It will be used for satsang programs and celebrations of functions and festivals.
